Building Blocks Playgroup 2011-12 Calendar:

September:Fall Semester begins

November : Thursday 24th and Friday 25th closed for Thanksgiving break

January: Developmental reports due for children 3 yrs and older.

February: Closed for Presidents' Day.

March: TBD

May: Closed for Memorial Day

June: Park sprinklers weather permitting. Summer Schedule

June 15th last day of Spring semester, beginning of Summer semester.

July: Closed July 4th,

August: TBD

September: Fall semester begins

Building Blocks Playgroup Daily Schedule 2011

Our daily and weekly schedule is typical of a high quality pre-school program with the added advantage of small groups and a low student/teacher ratio.

Children are split into age groups for special activities and projects which are adapted to the range of developmental abilities of children between the ages of 18months and 5 years.

Effective September thru June

8:00 – 8:45 Early drop off / Breakfast / freeplay

8:45 – 9:00 Freeplay / Project

9:00 – 9:45 Circle time activities for under 2's and early literacy and math for preschoolers

9:45 – 10:00 Snack

10:00 – 10:20 Floor activity / Bathrooms / Get ready to go outside

10:30 – 11:45 Outside time in local park / Indoors Movement if inclement weather

11:45 – 12:10 wash hands, bathroom, get lunches ready, children seated.

12:10 – 12:45 Lunch / Bathrooms

12:45 – 1:00 Story

1:00 - Half day children leave

Afternoon schedule

1:00 – 2:30 Nap/Rest/Quiet play

2:30 – 3:30 Afternoon project

3:30 – 3:45 Snack

3:45 – 4:30 teacher directed activities/ outside time weather permitting

4:30 – 4:50 Movement / circle / Bathrooms

4:50 – 5:00 Story

5:00 – 5:45 Freeplay / Goodbye
