When your baby’s head is measured during normal check-ups, health care professionals are monitoring one part of your baby’s growth. This measurement is then plotted on standardized growth charts and can give a general idea about your baby’s overall growth.

How much weight you put on will depend primarily on your height and how much you weigh before you get pregnant. If you weigh the average for your height then you should gain between 25 – 35 lbs. During your first trimester you can gain 2 – 5 lbs and there after about 1lb a week for the rest of your pregnancy.

The mother aged 59 and father, 72, conceived in India with fertility treatment and returned to England for the birth.
They told horrified medics they did not want the “wrong sex” babies immediately after the Caesarean section in Wolverhampton.
The husband then asked how soon it would be before his wife was fit enough to fly out again for further IVF in the hope of getting a boy to continue the family name.
