About Us
Welcome to Building Blocks! A NYS Dept Of Health Licensed child care facility, License #288196, located in New York City, in Manhattan on East 95th street. My name is Mandy; I have worked 6 years as a preschool teacher for a prestigious private preschool on the upper eastside, and I bring the same program and philosophy I learned there to Building Blocks Playgroup. I feel that with my accumulated experience, background and education in child development, I have a great deal to offer for your child’s education. I’m a native of England, raised and educated in North Wales. I received my degree with honors in Early Childhood Education in the U.S.,and before I became a Preschool Teacher I worked for 12 years as an English Nanny for Manhattan families.
The Learning Environment
I and my assistants will be conducting special lessons and projects where the children will learn through several mediums such as cooking classes, science exploration and arts and crafts. I value and understand how important individual care and small group size are to the education and well being of children, so I maintain a very low student to teacher ratio. I feel I have truly created the perfect nurturing environment for your children to be cared for, and educated in.
