Boy choked by electric car window as he hunted for sweets

This story is absolutely incredible, how stupid have we gotten as a society when children are allowed by their parents to to be placed in such a dangerous situation uncaringly?

The accident on August 15 happened after Michael’s mother Wendy Broughton took him and his three-year-old brother Jonathan to the shops for sweets.
As she often did, she left the sweets inside the car when they arrived back at their home in nearby New Addington. The children often took the car keys to get into the car and look for their treats

These kids were 3 and 5 years of age, and she routinely let them have the keys to the car to get something that she couldn’t be bothered to get off her rear end to get for them? The car keys? Unsupervised? Outside? And it was just a tragic accident?

An accident is when the child trips over his own feet and hits his elbow on the pavement, giving 5 and a 3 year old children car keys, and unsupervised access to the car is murder:
As she often did, she left the sweets inside the car when they arrived back at their home in nearby New Addington. She was then confronted by the horrific sight of her son’s trapped head hanging from the car window, the inquest in Croydon heard.”

I find myself reading that over and again—she often left the candy in the car and gave her 5 and 3 year old children the keys to the car to go get the candy. Often. Accident it was, maybe, but common decency damns this woman and common sense is appalled.
